Question:

Pick one of the “Big Five Personality Traits” (see figure 2.5) that details the most important trait for your current job or a job you aspire to. Explain why the trait you picked is the most important for the job you have in mind. 

 

Answer:

  Among the "Big Five Personality Traits" which can be unveiled in the acronym O.C.E.A.N which stand for  Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism (Management Principles v. 1.1, Chapter 2, Page 73); I would say the most important trait for the position I am currently in is Agreeableness.

  Agreeableness which is "the degree to which a person is affable, tolerant, sensitive, trusting, kind, and warm" (Management Principles v. 1.1, Chapter 2, Page 76); is the most important trait for me because I recently launched my own Comic Book company and I would need to get a lot of work done through the efforts of other people. However, if people don't find me agreeable or it's difficult for me to get along with others, how would I ever be able to accomplish my goals through the efforts of my employees. 

  Agreeableness aligns with my professional goal of taking my company from where it is right now to becoming one of the top companies in it's category by December this year. 

  A single goal like getting one comic book published in a week would require a lot of cooperation and the tossing back & forth of ideas before we can even agree what direction the story would take, what type of art style would be best, what would turn our target audience into fans of the franchise, etc.

  Pretty much everything requires the trait of Agreeableness as the backbone of making things work and getting goals accomplished.
